Today's prompt isn't about writing. It's about not writing.
Sometimes when we're trying to write we lose focus, like I'm sure all of you do, it's not quite writer's block but it starts to feel like you are working against yourself.
So for today when you start to feel yourself losing focus get up and walk away from your computer or notebook. Go outside, do 30 minutes of yoga, cook some food. Let your mind wander.
When you're ready to write again, set a timer for 10 minutes and just free write. Write about your walk, the way your body felt as you stretched, the meal you cooked or anything else that came to mind during your break.
How does taking breaks help your writing? Sometimes giving yourself permission to stop can lead to new avenues for your writing.
